Default Yamaha 70ces timing help / service manual

    Hi,

I'm after a service manual for a yamaha 70ces, or if anyone knows how to set the timing on it, or how long the timing adjustment bolts have to be.

    Any help appreciated!

    Thanks

it's 18deg max, more than that and it will snip the piston crown right in front of the exhaust window, stick the ring and drop the cyl.

i never found a "70ces" manual, i used the factory 50,60,70, and 85,90hp manual for torque specs and such, stock 70hp ran more timin, also rev limited, regular stock timin set up will burn it down (see above)

    Thanks Fred,
yeh I've looked all over but never found a ces manual. I had a look at the timing links on it and they look to be similar to that of a stock motor (judging by photos). engine is running a lot better now so I don't think the timing is an issue. I plan to rebuild it over the winter with all new gaskets and get the crank welded while its apart.
