All racers and friends are welcome to attend and please do.

please pass this on to all past racers that have raced with us over the years or old club members.

Also the 2017 spring APBA region 7 meeting will be held earlier in the day on Saturday at same location.

The BSOA 75th banquet committee met last night-plans are moving ahead for what we hope will be a great event. For those of you coming in from out of town; consider some of the attractions available in the Milwaukee area. Like the Harley-Davidson Museum, Calatrava-designed Art Museum, brewery tours, etc. Perhaps we can entice Lee Sutter to come in and conduct guided tours of his favorite watering holes from the years he spent with us in the 70's.
    Happy Thanksgiving to all.
    More later-Chip

    thanks

Default Can You Make Us A List of Who Might Be There?

I know Carl Stippich, Harold Berghauer, Donny Smitzer, Bucky the Region Chairman, Bill Leunter, Hank Menzies won't be there, but know who would be there might make the trip worth while.

Default Jack Maypole and My Old Friends

    http://www.boatracingfacts.com/forum...9-Jack-Maypole

In 1956, we went to the Nationals in Cambridge, Maryland, then went to Detroit to see the Gold Cup, then went to Chicago to see Jack Maypole and Lor Gonia. We were to meet at a place called The Bob's. It rained like hell as it can do that in Chicago, that day. So, when we got to The Bob's it was closed. Lor Gonia, started yelling at the people and they open the roller coaster up for us. My dad and Jack Maypole rode in the front car. My dad said, "They talked motors going up the hill, the stopped real quick when they started down.

    Jack died two years later.

Jack Maypole came to Lake Mead, maybe 1948 for the nationals. He kept wring his bank for money money. When he got home his banker wanted to know if he'd bought a hotel, in Las Vegas.

As far as bringing my old friends to Wisconsin, Dave Bryan raced back in Wisconsin one whole summer. He had my old trailer and my 3-Mark 30-H's. But Daved Passed three weeks ago. I don't have many OLD FRIENDS, they have passed on.

I'm sure the Hedlund's will be there. That would be worth the trip. Dave Procnow would be fun to see. (When Dave was dating a Berghauer daughter, that he's been married two since, like 1974, he raced "C" Hydro. The Berghauers didn't help him much. So, he got my dad to build him a .030 Over Mark 30-H. He ended up second in "C" Hydro in Utah, 1973.

Im' sure the Hedlunds will be there along with their ace driver Dr. Stu Wilson. We are attempting to contact as many past members of BSOA as we can so any help from you and others would be appreciated. Names like Schaub, Brusk, Kargus, Zolkoske, Jess, Snyder, Nydahl, Julien, Walters, Pergande, Hrovatin, Becherini and others might ring a bell.
