Is that a Merc 25xs crescent gear case on that 2 cylinder job?

Your Konig is a class "B' 350 cc from 1970 number 116. My question remain why did you call it a V13?

    Pete,
It’s a Merc that I added the front stuff. When I raced B Loopers I did in fact used a Crescent gear case & won the 1968 nationals with it. This one was built from parts for my collection then sold to Bill Welch. There were tell tale signs in the lock that it might have been one of mine. The sleeves wanted to turn so my dad put set screws along side the sleeves 1/2 in to the sleeve & 1/2 in to the aluminum. This had that done.

Well the Konig has been identified. It is a early round block motor. 116 is the number at time made of that type. This motor first came out in 1967 fo the first time in USA. My motor like is the 50 th motor made and has the old position exhaust. Anyone remember that? Exhaust had three positions, one for short course, one for medium course, and one for long courses. They had a big rubber vibration grommet on them. They did not last long as someone figured out sliding them was best. Ahh the learning curve. Steve

I never saw any of those with grommets Steve. The only position suggestions I saw were with the FB Konigs with a can, and they had recommendations on how far forward or back the can should be according to the size of the course. I have to do some remembering about our first V Konigs with rotary valves in 1968. They also had cans and we went with the Zak pipes in 1969, so let me think about the transition some. Since you were in Scott Smiths front yard, you guys were probably the ones that tested the rubber grommet system.

As to "V13", is it possible that the stamping was not done well or is just hard to read with age, and that it really was meant to read, "VB" ??
