    Default prop selection

Hey guys, First post here. Wanted to pick some brains. I have a 14' Gw Invader under restoration and I am on my way to pick up a shortshaft 75 Johnson next week. I plan on running the PRO50 T&T. Question is, while I'm gathering parts, anyone have any prop advice? Anyone have anything similar to my set up?

    Thanks!

Welcome to the messageboard! I'll be the first to chime in and answer a question with a question... Does the 75hp engine have the stock, fishing engine size gearcase & gear ratio or does it have the smaller (40/48/50hp) Nitro size gearcase and if the Nitro gearcase, which gear ratio is inside?

Thanks 25XS! It does have the nitro case 15" mid. I will know more about it when I pick it up next week. I believe it has the 15:28 (1.87) gear ratio.

Ok, with that engine, here is a starting point; http://www.boatracingfacts.com/forum...chfield+Canada

Your boat bottom is probably not tuned for racing and heavier than a Critchfield racing boat but the props listed will get you started.

Get a Jeff Brown cleaver from Ron Hill in a 22" pitch. It pushes my 13' Delta to 68 MPH with a warn out 56 cubic inch Stinger
Thanks Ron Hill thanked for this post

Thanks for the replies! I have always been under the impression that cleavers were more for tunnel boats? I’m more used to larger 18’ v hulls si the smaller boats are a bit new to me. My boat should way between 300-350

Depends if your boat needs extra bow lift. most small padded V bottoms do quite well with a cleaver

Interesting. I guess I’ll find out! I’ll take your advice though for sure.
