    Talking

    Ron,

Bruce Summers might know. He is in the process of restoring one right now. Think he has the motor finished, and is working on a side by side runabout. How about it Bruce?

You stabbed me right in the heart! It sure looks like a 4-60 mid section but does it have a model no.? The later ones[1934-my birthdate-to1941] were no. 8000to8006 except for 8001 which is the class X racer. There were different mid sections made for the different gearcases made by Hubbel and others. Is this midsection available? I have one but it is not quite rite. I think I'll post the pic. of my 4-60. I did'nt realize there was any interest on this site for the "Real Antiques".

Thumbs up Era of steel men and wooden boats

I sure hope there is int. in what was when things weren't mass produced.
Seems to me that was the real innovative time.

    Default Being a "REAL" Antique

I ama REAL ANTIQUE...as you already know!!! If it hasn't been clear, I like ALL RACE BOATS......Race Boats are like women...Never met one I didn't think I could (DRIVE) or like....

My dad and Pep Hubbell made some mid section for the 460's...My dad made a brass one for his 460...My dad had a "SHORT" Rod 460, that he buit for himself, but sold to Chuck Parsons....

I'll look at this mid section tomorrow and see if there are any numbers...my polisher tends to sand off numbers....though...

    Default 4-60 owner and machanic

If I do this right, here is a shot taken by the Camera boy at Kitsap lake in 2004. This is my 4-60 on a 14 foot De Silva. I've raced this boat with Roy Yager at De Pue and down in California and here in region 10. He bought the boat and I had the motor and away we go. Dave Losvar is now the proud owner of Little Audry and I still own the Beast as we call it. This shot is Dave at the wheel for the first time with Roy's brother Rick as deck rider. The other shot is the old and new side by side. That is my daughter riding in my new ride. Talking noise the 4-60 makes a sweet one of it's own. Rrrrrrrrrruuuunnum
