    Default Midwest Boat Racer. 1950's

I am 84 years young now but still remember the "good old days" of racing on the Illinois River, Mississippi River and many small lakes in Illinois,Wisconsin, and Indiana. I started out with a DeSilva closed runabout which was a good unit but too heavy. My last three years I drove an Ashburn (A)hull with a a B Merc with lots of My own and Quincy Welding innovations. The set up turned out to be pretty good as I could compete with the Factory sponsored teams.
I will enter some more information later.

I like those pictures. You raced in a hotbed of alky racing. You must have many stories to tell. Lets hear them along with your pictures.

    Default will post more soon

Thanks guys, I am working on gathering more photographs and picking my mind for some more memories. My last year was 1958, I joined the U.S. Army later that year. The Draft was going to take me so I decided to go on my timeline.
