    Default J/E A Test Wheel

I'm looking for a test wheel for the Johnson/Evinrude "A" engine. Was there ever one available? If not, what is out there that can be used? Or, can one be fabricated? If so, what are the dimensions, or better yet a sketch or print.

Also, about what RPM range does the "A" generally reach it's peak? I've been away from racing for many years and now own an "A" engine I have been letting someone run and need to know more about the performance characteristics of this engine. I used to do all my own stock engine work (20H) and it bugs me that I know so little about this engine.

I don't think there is anything to set or adjust on a new A ... fixed jets & timing .. no need for a test wheel
Since 1925, about 150 different racing outboards have been made.

You can advance and retard the timing. You can also change the fixed jet.
