Default C Modified Mercury (30h Type) For Sale

FOR SALE AND IN NO RUSH: C - MODIFIED MERC ( Mark 30H 4 cylinder block type )

THE ENGINE: Mercury Mark 30 older style (4 separate intake insepection port cover type) block, ported and polished. Deep cooling installed not that dis-similar from alky deflector Quincy/Mercs from the 1960s to make her run coolest. Internals balanced. Composite reeds on brass Mk 55H reed blocks. Later model large taper Merc 55H/Mark 58 crankshaft to use D Quicksilver gearcases in final drive. Nylon raced top and bottom bearings, Tillotson KA carbs with adjustable high speed needles/jets. Mercury P4D magneto ignition. Lightweight flywheel and rope plate. LeBanco exhaust elbos, sealed "wet type" filler block and Weinandt exhaust adapter/cover plate, using 2 hung custom made (dry hot pipe) expansion chambers as well as having a spare set of original C class LeBanco megaphones with water spraying cooling elbos for megaphone pipes making 2 unique exhaust systems to suit sound levels requirements of differing race sites.

The Midsection: Bayer aluminum tower, with Mercury saddle, clamps, co-pilot and engine to tower aluminum adapter kit that connects throttle and electrical to carbs and magneto kill.

The Gearcase: Mercury Mark 55H stock outboard racing dimensioned gearcase with 1 to 1 gear ratio to swing props used for C-Mod hydro.

Overall Condition: Very Clean, with little time, the rings being just when the rings are being seated/broke in. This engine with the megaphones is very light weight comparing to most C-Mods. Weight is pretty much equalized when using the expansion chambers as the pipe(s) hanging frame and heavier expansion chambers pack on the extra weight back to where most engines are. *Note - no props being sold with this engine.

Reason for selling: I am not the 140 lb driver in a lightweight B & H hydro on class weight limits setup this engine needs and my daughter does not want to drive in this Modified class anymore, this is quicker for her with this newer effort and that bothers her.

Engine Price: Asking firm price of $2,250.00 USD$ Plus packaging and shipping (engine sectioned for boxed shipping) to your door (won't exceed $150.00 USD$) anywhere in North America. There are no warrantees or guarantees being sold with this engine, it is an engine for racing and therefore subject to adverse conditions and catastrophic failures encountered in racing.
