This is probably an old realization to some, but a light turned on here when I looked at a spare magneto adapter shaft that links the outboard belt cog to the lower magneto adapter splines. It turns out that the top part of the shaft is ideal to remove the large wrist pins on later models of 44 pistons without scattering the needle bearings and wrist pin washers all over the place. With a little slice off another spare it shaft makes for a great little insitu tool for loading greased wrist pin needle bearings for easy pin re-install with a push through action that displaces the insitu assembly with the user permanent wrist pin as it comes through without dropping a needle bearing.

Mercury kinda made its own removal and assembly tool without knowing it.
