    Default Speedmaster question

I got a question about the shape/thickness on the skeg on my speedmaster, I cleaned the case and found a large buildup of bondo to build up the thickness in the front of the skeg, is this original or is this someones "performance" mod ??

There is no damage to the skeg, looks like someone tried to change the dynamic on this SSM, thickness is close to 3/8" .

I am going to start painting the case this week, should I remove it??, or leave it ( just fix what's missing, rest looks solid )

I'm sure it is just someone's attempt to neutralize prop torque; I've never seen it on any other
Since 1925, about 150 different racing outboards have been made.
