If you don't try a lot of different boats you will never know which one fits you. The Dawecraft might suit your drving style very well, might not, but you don't know unless you give your BEST shot. An attitude won't get you very far in boat racing.... It just gets you beached. Remember, this is not Karting, and it dam sure ain't stock car racing. It is a family sport with a bunch of your competitors helping you race competitively... think about that.

Rome was not built in a day, and neither are boat racers.

And never rule out a D Alkie, they are Capsule boats similar to the 45 you want. 500CC and above in the hydros run capsule boats. They are not tunnel boats though, they are hydros with capsules installed. Very cool and exciting to watch, and I for one would jump at a chance to drive them. I bet you would too if you saw an Alkie race...

Now then, lets see some of the old KT come back and keep us all enthused about your progress on the new boat. If it does not fit your style you can always sell it and try a Sorenson, or a JDS or a few others on the left coast.

well said Dave! In particular the part you mentioned about trying different boats. Each boat has it own characteristics and so does the driver. It takes a matching combination to make it work well. I think KT will really enjoy the new Dawe. I always have. She will find a Dawe much easier to drive and turn than the current boat she has. New wood is GOOD!

Craig, thanks for finding that. That was the second case in point why the Dawecraft switch. She was out front, looking GOOD, listening to her coach, and one she calls her second dad, Ron Hill, on taking the turns...She tightened it up, and that boat just will not work like that...so, she got knocked off plane and had lost too much water when the pack passed her....she finished third....First heat of the day she took a 40 MPH bath...

i can't wait to get her in the Dawe boat after Darren and many others recommendation. Dave, thank you for reinforcing the attitude issue. She looks at water and pre determines weather it is too rough or not before running over it......I mean everyone else seemed to handle it fine, and her reply, 'Yeah dad, they all had Dawecrafts" Ah ummmmnnnnn..............................I'll stay silent from this point.

how about something along the likes of this............this is my nieces boat Frank Zorkan built 3 years ago for her that I painted up with my team graphics (not colors though).........she has sort of outgrown it now (4yrs old), so might have to modify up a weedeater motor and put some power on it!
