    Default 2007 rules

Hey Ross, when will the 2007 BWC 300 rules be posted? It's time to start putting the boat together for summer testing.

The rules have been finalized and Ross has them in hand. I know we promised them to you in January but we ran up against a wall with APBA at the National Meeting. They had difficulty with our Division VI, no capsule rule and the height limits on the outboards. I believe that most of these problems have been resolved and some compromises have had to be made. Ross has told me that he should have the rules in place by Friday. Rod

Default Speaking With Mr. Wartinger 2/17/07

Bob asked me where would the 2006 Clean Evinrude E-Tec 225 V-6 run???

But he really wanted to know where the Opti Max Mercury V-6 would run....

Bob has been on the winning team at the 24 Hours of Rouen, France, 8 times.....He has also been on the winning team for the last two years at the 24 Hours of Russia...

Truly and amazing man...and he wants to race The Blue Water Resort and Casino 300 this year.... With a Mercury Opti Max...

And Greg Adams wants to come from Australia to runa EVINRUDE E-Tec. Are these V-Hull cool?? Or what???225 Evinrude 2006 Clean, E-Tec motors...

With a "club" foot, prop shaft 3 inches below the bottom, my guess would be Division IV. With a pointy nose unit, prop shaft 2 inches below the bottom, I would guess Division VI. Ross will have the rules approved by Friday and we should be able to publish them shortly thereafter. AT THIS TIME, NOTHING IS OFFICIAL!!!! ROD

That would be quite a bit different from what we agreed to in the rules meeting. Why the change of heart on the prop shaft height?

The 2 inch rule was a "demand" by the APBA safety committee. They feel that no shaft height rules was what caused the demise of the Mod VP class. They feel that the mod VP's , as we knew them, were unsafe, and as a committee, they donot want to go backwards in history. Fred Hauenstein feels that the high shafts cause "blow-over", unsafe speeds and spin-out in the turns. If we want to continue our efforts to run the Parker Enduro, we have no choice but to work with APBA and their concerns. They have said that the past Parker Enduros were some of the most dangerous races run and they insist that we continue our efforts to make the current Parker Enduros as safe as possible. Both Fred Hauenstein and Bob Wartinger have a history in boat racing. Their knowledge of outboard racing is a "given". The rules should be out in the next few days. Rod

What are the dates for the Mini Enduro? We still don't have the dates for the Parker 300! I have promised that the rules for the 300 would be out by today and at the last meeting, we allowed that the rules for the 300 would be out by the end of January. So, where are we? I am as frustrated as any one, but will try my best to push where necessary to get the job done. The ball is in Ross' court. He has a handful, I understand and I know there are competitors out there who want to start preparing for the "Indy of boat racing"--I will do what I can to get the rules out! Rod

Ross has just agreed to allow me to work on the rules as rules chairman. (Ross is up to his neck in alligators and boat races, in addition to trying to feed a family)I will be busy the next two days getting the rules into a format suitable for the computer and will post them shortly there after. As for the jets (Code Blue), we have hung it all out to see if a jet boat can get a win. This year, all jets will be in Division II with a start time of 0 plus 15 minutes. The engines will be unrestricted (that means anything goes in the jet category) Boat minimum length is 16 feet. Weight in the jet category is unrestricted. Drive rules as far as the jet nozzle, jet-o-vator and rudder remains as it did last year. Formal rules for all classes shall follow. We expect to see a whole lot of jet boats in Div. II
Small block inboards with a 2 bbl carburetor in flat, vee or tri hull form, either V-drive, straight drive, or I/O will also compete in Division II with the jets.

Hey Rod it sounds like if we put a two barrel on our boat with some additional wood added to the bottom to make it a tri hull we would fit in division 2 is that right?
