Hey Carl, while I was looking for info in the Propeller for the 1979 Parker, I saw that the 1100 hydro kilo record was broken by Jeff Lewis in California. It was 111+. Any relation?

    Default Jeff Lewis....No Realtionship...Other Than...

I'm pretty sure that Jeff Lewis, form Grants Pass, Oregon and Carl aren't related....But they both are CRAZY, if that means anything...

Jeff should be in the ENCYCLOPEDIA section, but let me tell you a couple of QUICK "Jeff Lewis" stoires...

Seems Jeff was racing "River Races" in Oregon where you run a 44 cubic inch Merc. He was buying props from me and doing pretty well. Seems they had a "Calcutta" at each race and the RACE winner got 10% of the pot....Sometimes the pot was $20,000...(1970's...)...

Anyway, Jeff wanted to go faster, so I "Hooked" him up with J.A. "Lon" Stevens. I guess, that Jeff was SO FAST they ruled out Stevens motors and made the rules "stock blocks" ONLY....

But, Lon and Jeff became friends. Jeff was "Into" building his own boats, and was running for records...Seems, "WE" (SCOA) was running Kilos down at Parker, at Christmas vacation, (1982) so Jeff decided to fly to Parker...Of course, he didn't really look at a map and ran out of gas around Blythe....He landed, hitch hiked to Blythe, got directions and gas, and flew on to Parker...

He was helping Stevens with their F Hydro...

Not long after that, Jeff ran 142 MPH in his HOME BUILT HYDRO, with a 122 Cubic Inch Merc...NO CAPSULE...

Jeff set some records, and I don't know all the data....but 142 in a hydro with no capsule and 122 cubic inces??? Holy Cow!!!!
