Default 60 carbs on 40 merc.

Thinking of putting 60 h.p. carbs and reeds on my 40 h.p. Mercury. Just wondering what kind of gains to be expected. Its a 2005 Mercury 40 H.P. 3 cylinder two stroke.

Hey Fred....do you know the difference in port maps for the 60 block as opposed to the 40? Alot of guys around here are raising the exhaust ports by a few degrees to help make a little more on top. Also, we've been decreasing case volume with epoxy to help with bottom end pressure. Do you have any experience with these 60 cube Mercs?
