    Default Old School

When OLD SCHOOL was new, we'd be ready for a race months ahead of time...If we make the race, I need to thank, Jim Wilkes, Bryan Wilson, Ben Marrone and Jack...(Ben's friend) for the help.....And I need to thank Tinker Collinge for working all week for our effort at Parker...

Thanks, Ben, for making the tank, and fixing the skeg on the gearcase....I won't mention the plates you gave us as we haven't tried to put them on yet!!! We are still looking for steering....

Anyone got a 17 foot Morse dual cable steering an helm laying around?? How about a Rideguide rack???

If I don't have a steering by Tuesday, I'm bolting an 8 foot 2 X 4 to the motor and Pat can steer like it was a 25 HP fishing boat!!!! (I could not be worse than the steering we had)...

    Ron:

Try PMing TomandAprilsSwitzers and ask for that Rideguide rack. He has a few better lines on that stuff that most around these parts

Nah... I know how you are and it's a hell of a lot cheaper for you to harass me on here than it is on the phone... I just like to give you crap!

    Default Plugs

Just a quick reminder, bring a new set of plugs with you and some wire ties and any other spare parts plus tools.....

Have you tested yet and if so how did it go?

    Default I haven't been testing...

No one in their right mind spends much time out on Lake Pleasant on a weekend (ok, I'm not in my right mind but I don't either), and I didn't even pick up the boat yet... I'll head down there first thing Monday morning and probably go from there to the lake...

I still need to find out how much gas this thing burns because I want to buy somewhere close to the right amount (I don't want to spend too much for gas, and my guess is a whole bunch which also adds to the cost of oil!!!)... Can those of you that have run an old Johnrude V8 give me a rough guess???

I'm goin way back but when we ran the V-8 on the Eliminator Daytona, I think we planned on 32 gallons per hour. Rod

OMC's fuel usage chart from the era rates the 300 V-8 at 32 per hour at wide open throttle. That's gunna vary when you are in traffic.
