Hi Guys ... I'm new to the forum ... here is what we get up to in South Africa ....
Dirk - Nice pictures. Fill us in. What body of water were the pic's taken? How many boats raced? Do you have a club? What national oranization rules do you race under? Keep us updated here in the states. Here is a link of some inflatibles in our country filmed running up a river at our Outboard marithon nationals. 42 mile long race thru lakes and rivers.

This is my 3rd racing year coming up starting in October, my first year I raced in the stock standard class, no. S34, second year I was running in the blueprint class no. 34 and the first to pics was racing at Mosselbay on the east coast of south africa in the western cape province, where we got a 3rd place for our class in the longhaul and 5th place in the wave surf circuit as we had poor engine setup, the 3rd pic is our last race for the last season where we got 3rd place for the surf and did not finish the long haul as we spun our prop, the 4th pic is the mockup I designed for my new boat for the upcoming season, I will be getting the new boat next week (can't wait) .... the last pic is my own personal experiment boat, I redesigned a 2,6m inflatable tender, changed the transom added high-jackers and added my fully modified suzuki 30hp pushing away at 75km/h (46.6 mph) with a 4-blade 16-p pro-pulse prop running 103 octane race fuel .... it is very unstable but I love the rush of keeping it on the water and look on peoples faces when I pass a speedboat with 125 on the back .....
I agree, cool
Since 1925, about 150 different racing outboards have been made.
are you runnin the Transangalus this year?
SAIBA (south african inflatable boat association) make the rules of our races and issue the licenses etc. There is about 4 or 5 clubs here I belong to FBIBC (false bay inflatable boat club) ..... Our rules are pretty standard and basic, safety first etc. .... we have 3 classes, the P750S (stock standard class) P750 (blueprint class) and P750M (modified class)
yes I am definitely running the trans aghulas this year, 6 days this year, check out ... www.transagulhaschallenge.co.za
