    Default SST 45 wish list

For all 45 drivers,,, Since the elections and national meeting is coming up is there any rules or otherwise changes that you as a driver would like your commisioner to addressed for this class

I think the rod issue is a mute point at this time, unless you think otherwise.
Anything else we as drivers would like addressed,, lets open the floor for your thoughts.

    Thanks

Lower units. Are they readily available and if so, where?

I only have one and if it goes down, I cannot race.

Hopefully Jake will chime in if he is registered here, but does Sea-Way have any left? Ron Hill keeps mentioning prop shafts are scarce. If so, that should mean Sea-Way doesn't have any and may or may not be tooling up to make more.

    Thanks.

Thanks for your response, Parts availability is certainly an issue to be addressed. Most likely Greg with Sea way will have to be the guy that answers that question. Your probably not the only guy that has one gearcase to race on, they come up for sale from time to time so keep your eyes open and have a little cash stash ready because they don't last long

I was thinking more along the lines of things that maybe should be allowed such as bushing the carb butterfly shaft bores if you choose, but I have not really had an issue with finding legal carbs to use,but some of those are in the same shape.

Maybe allowing a different plug wire,, OMC,, but newer/better quality, why is it considered a primary part?

I don't know how many times I have seen engine covers go flying off during a race because the latches release. What about using the lift eye hole for a stud that would protrude through to top of the cover like some of the 120 motors that has a clip ,, like a race car hood clip to hold the darn things on
Again not a performance enhancement but looks far better than a bungie cord wrapped across the motor.

    Default New Gearcases

Seaway had some new gearcases in stock a couple years back.
I bought one at that time.
The easiest way to find out is to just give them a call at 1-800-332-0803 ask for Dave Losvar. He handles all the 45 parts and he will know if they have any.
