Thumbs up EVINRUDE V8: The Worlds FASTEST & 'BADDEST' 180mph+ Outboard

Here is a two part video of the fastest & "Baddest" Outboard Motor ever built. Yep it's an EVINRUDE.
It developed OVER 600hp on Nitrous & accelerated from a ZERO to it's top speed of over 180mph (Time & Time again) inside 1 kilometer on a 20' - 3 point hydro. It then went through the speed trap for another kilometer (with NO Nitrous) & decelerated within the 3rd kilometer, returned to the pits, & was out there again with the hour to do it again from the other end of the course.
This video is an icon very impressive & should be in EVERY Outboard motor enthusiasts collection. It is no longer available BUT it should be. At least you can see it right here on BRF, the worlds premier historical racers website.

You can see the boat fishtail as Wart hits the nitrous ... had to be the scariest part of the whole thing
Since 1925, about 150 different racing outboards have been made.

Hard to believe it was that long ago. My brother Steve and I were the Time Trial Reps and scanner operators. Although the sun is out, it was an extremely cold week and all we thought about was how miserable and underpaid we were.

But now...kinda proud to be part of it and the rest doesn't matter.

Now thats darn interesting right there, Dean. Do you have any significant recolections other than the cold & the money. For instance some of the speeds this 'weapon' was timed at. We would all like to know!!

Thanks for that insight about the nitrous Sam. I wondered why there were those high waterspouts from the right hand sponson on the video & the driver correction at the same time (2nd video @ about 6:30minutes). Anything else you picked up?

It is one very popular video as I knew it would be. 3200 hits in 2 days.
