Default Bouncey Checks In With Pictures

Bjorn....AKA Bouncey has been telling me he has some GOOD GN pictures...

Well, he gave me this one...and it is GOOD...

This picture is taken in front of the snack bar at the Miami Marine Stadium, about 1978....

Rocki Aoki, Mr. Benihana Restaurants is in the middle....

Behind Rocki, is Steve Goodman (GN-666), Steve is talking to Bob Fulps (with glasses)...Fulps owned Cherokee Charger with Russ Clevenger. Bob was also quite an engine builder.

With sideburns is Bill Sirois...Bouncey says...but I don't think so... Far background with hat and glasses was Rocki's "Right Hand man and body guard.."

I do remember Rocki. I understand he came to this country a poor man, worked his @$$ off, and opened Benihana Japanese restuarants. He lived near the Stadium on Key Biscayne. He had a Rolls Royce Silver Cloud and he would sometimes pull the GN to the races with it. I remember one time he backed up the boat, to launch, and about half filled the trunk with water. He was a nice guy.

    Thumbs up

Duff Dailey sent me some of his race videos from way back to convert to DVD. One of them was the Mike Gordon 100 from Miami in 1980. Very cool stuff!

The one John posted of GN19 on the rocks looks like one I took. It is at Clear Lake near Houston. I have to check some of my files because in one of the earlier posts with a group of pictures, I can see Jim Slack's tunnel in the background. I think that's Galveston around 1974. It wasn't clear to me if Bouncey drove, or worked on the boats, or both.

Default Bouncey says he's getting the boat off the rocks

I talked to Bouncey, today. He said he's had very little time behind the wheel...In his early days here in America, when lived in Florida, someone tried to teach him to drive, but Bouncey and his teacher agreed that maybe he should stay with working on engines.

Bouncey says Bob Fult was the one who drove it on the rocks, Bouncey is the one trying to get the boat off the rocks. This boat was called Del Taco. Paul Fitzgerald drove the boat that was called "Crazyhorse" at the 2013 336 Mile Parker Enduro. Brad Miller owned both of these boats.
