So to get a new rig in 120.

    20K motor
    16-20K boat
    3K (open) trailer
    10-15K (closed trailer)
    5 K rigging
    2-3K props
    3K air system
    2K radio's

So we are in the range of 52K for a new 120 rig and that's about 10 K short to get towards the front.

I will always admit. The best bang for the money is a 45. Unless you are at the Doll House.

Problem is, not many 45 races I can make.
You should be able to take those guys at lakeland

I think he's talking about the motor.
But if there were to be series races with this boat and motor I think it could take off. Here are some photos to show what it looks like. Looks pretty good to me.

this class is taking off sucessfully in europe.

potential racers in the US don't complain about the price of our equipment as much as they complain about the availability, that the equipment is old, and that someone new would struggle to be competitive. people don't get into racing without the hope of someday being able to win a race. this class addresses those concerns.

sure $16k is a good chunk of change, but for all new maintainence free equipment, it's as reasonable as it's ever going to get today. this is tunnel boat racing's opportunity to continue to exist and hopefully grow.

the sst45 class had great sucess racing at this same speed (until new motors couldn't be purchased, parts became hard to find for a newby, and certain people had distinct advantages).

i understand being skeptical. but don't just be a nae-sayer. if you have something constructive to say, great. we all want to know how to make this work - not why it won't...
