The class is known as SST 45 in the OPC Category. There is also a Stock Outboard category version, which is called 45ss.

    Here's more information about them:

45's are the next step up after the Sport C's. Capsules required, faster speeds, full race motors, versus the "fishin" type motors of the Sport C's....

Thanks Daren, found the sport c site , they use 42ci tahotsu motor wondered about comparison of the 2.

Sounds like you had a good turnout at your races last wk. end.

    Default "POP" Curtis says...

POP990 started his son, Kevin Curtis, in Sport C. He said, "When they went to 45, they thought they'd have much more power." He says, really, with the 1:1 unit on the 45 they have speed, but not much power. As a result, as we are finding out, it isn't easy to get the set up right.

I guess nothing is easy...one reason we don't have millions racing...

Anything anyone wants to know about Sport C, get a hold of Frank Banducci (Through www.boatracingr11.com )...or POP990 he knows Sport C's...

If anyone is considering getting started in Sport C or SST 45, POP990, right here will help you...and so will anyone else for that matter...
