Default Ralph Evinrude Test Center Stuart, Florida

    Thanks Wayne,

    Hi again,

I am really slow to continue with my Racing stories but a few days ago I went back
to where my dream about a life in the United States started in 1977/78.
That's when Jack Leek invited me to the Ralph Evinrude Testcenter in Stuart, Florida.
I was standing there at the docks as a Swedish resident,
dreaming about one day be able to be part of this great country..
This dream become reality pretty fast because my good relationship with all the
    people at OMC, back then...

    Again... Thanks Jack Leek... R.I.P.

and Evinrude you made my dream possible..
My next 10/12 years is 100% OMC Evinrude Business and Racing..
    Stories coming soon...

    Default Three World Records

When I went to Sweden for a two week visit, a few days ago I found this in my Dads basement..

3 World records from 1973. If I remember right..they are average speed
    over 1-2 and 3 hours..

The record was set on Dalälven and it was below freezing and thin ice
in the morning of October 21 1973..

Don't yell too loud, this translation certainly has one conceptual mistake (first sentence), but I only know Norwegian, not Swedish street talk!

    Dear Lars,

Wayne and his dad are some of the few that in 1973 quickly got me thinking about 'over there'. I also immediately had great respect for Papa Baldwin [our Baldy]. He quickly convinced me that 'Texas is the biggest/greatest in the world'. His son's known as the best driver. He (even) had an oil company as sponsor, his presumed fans said. He'd inherited Master Oil from Papa!

    Greetings,

    Leif ...

(calling Lars 'Lasse' is like calling Robert 'Bobby'---or in Texas, maybe 'Billy-Bob' ...)

    Kul Lasse

    Leif Ahlborg

Yes, I know it is impossible to understand but all very good reading and I am
going to try to translate, but that is next post
