It looks like that is my friend Peter Matsson, and he purshased my SE class Clerici from the year before.
I think he is trying to stay out of my way when I lap him.

The picture is from a 1 hour race outside Stockholm called Waxholm..

I have a few more photos..and I know you are going to love them Wayne..
The one and only.. Dieter Konig is with me for the Paris 6 hour race 1977..

This is fun..pictures from the pit.. Paris 6 Hours 1977..Dieter Konig made me a special engine for this race and I asked Joachim Mareth to be my co-pilot.

You can see Dieter..(red arrow) and Joachim (blue arrow)..

Well my racing suit looks to big..the other one was damaged in a crash a few weeks before the Paris 6 Hour race..

Yes Lars. Great Photo. I recognize Joachim instantly and of course Dieter. I am wondering if that might be Peter Konig on your boat. It looks a lot like him, but I thought Peter's hair was curly. And the guy behind your boat with the sunglasses and mustache looks familiar. Do you know who he is? Looking forward to the other pics.

Default More photos from the Swedish Power Boat Federations basement..

    My 1981 ..AKAI-Burgess/Evinrude CC.. Formula 3 boat.

I think this is from early 1982..and the Press meeting SVERA organized every spring.

Used this boat for the first few races 1982..sold it after a race in North Italy and went
to Burgess in UK to pick up the new white F-3 Burgess.. just in time for the Bristol race same year.

This .. AKAI-Burgess/Evinrude CC..gave me my first Aspen F-3 World Champion Title..

    Thanks David Burgess..

Default 1982 Formula 3 World Championship Race Drammen, Norway.

    My.. Diamanthuset-Burgess-Evinrude CC

This photo makes me smile again.

Won the race.. The Party with my friends that made the win possible turned out pretty crazy..

I stll remember what OMC´s..Ric McChesney and Jim Nerstrom did..
Easy to smile now..but not 6 a clock in the morning..the day after.

    Very good memories..

    Thank you

Default My Delicato-Clerici/Evinrude Class SD race boat from 1978..

    Thank you mintominto.
    ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
I was asked by OMC to try to make this engine work in the SD class.
There was one big success..the Stockholm Grand Prix 1978..
I grabed the overall win...Well the race was one hour and most SE/OE boats
    broke down..

As always..you win on the last lap..not the first..

This was a fun experiment and a way for me to get back to race for OMC again after one year with Volvo Penta/Konig (1977 )

    Default SD engine update..

It was the new 1978 production Evinrude 55 hp 2 cyl. 737cc..(replaced to old 50 Evinrude)..Short shaft with the nitro gearecase and race powertrim we built.

Raced Stockholm GP and one more race..1978..The Evinrude 55 could not keep up with the stronger production Mariner 60hp..

    PS..Picture of the engine..Well this is 20 inch shaft..I used the 15..
