Yes Ron..sadly there was lots of drivers losing their life in boat racing without
safety cockpits back then..
That was the only reason I gave up my F1-V8 ride to Bertil Wik 1985.

Well.. lots of passing in the series (check the video above)..just hard to pass # 18 Renato Molinari..

For me a fun photo..the last race in my own Burgess Evinrude V-8.
The sponsor was...Lasse Ström Marin.. the worlds largest Evinrude dealer..

Drove the Belgium GP a few weeks later in a brand new Velden boat with a safety cockpit..
No picture...get..

Yes..in a few race 1985...No speed change..but that powerhead had fuel injection..and the boat handle little better.

Oooo...yes I remember that weekend..

Bo Nilsson did a great race and won the SE Nordic Championship 1976.
I know that one day someone was going to beat me in the SE class and I am glad my best friend Bo was the one..
