Since 1925, about 150 different racing outboards have been made.
Well..if I remember right the "bubble back" was the difference between a 1983 and 84 model year.
(1981-82 and -83 was flat).
1985 was the 6 inch mid section and fuel injection..
I don't think OMC made them 1990..but a am sure Jim Nerstrom can get this right.
Hehe..maybe Jim is the seller..!!

Over in the Middle East the UIM is holding the yearly meeting.
Powerboat federations from all over the world are trying to grow boat racing.
I got this picture from Frode Sundsdal..
See..Charlie Strang ( left) is still part of UIM..

Thanks Lars. I have about a one inch thick file regarding the banning of methanol leading up to this race, and in fact it was Gary Garbrecht who brought up the nitrous oxide to me that you mentioned earlier. We had no idea of all the goings on. Gary was one of the guys representing the U.S. at the UIM meetings that was on our side. I believe Paul Kalb was also on the board, but pro methanol ban. This is a story for another thread, but in the meantime, I think I have an article from another magazine regarding this race. I'll see if I can find it.
We used methanol in UIM OE/F-3 up to my last OE/F-3 race 1982..
Not 100% sure what happened after 1982, but I think longer racing killed methanol..
To heavy load for a 30 minute race..
I remember Paul Kalb did everything possible to keep Dieter König out of OE/F-3 ..!!

I finally found more about my first year racing in Paris 1974
I was there in the pit with my fast SE Clerici 1973..but Mr. Bladinare (the Officer of the day) did not let me start because the Swedish Powerboat Federation sent my entry form to late..
Back then you must have your country's NA enter you to an International race.
My yellow Clerici/Evinrude is on the first picture..see red arrow.
This is also the Rotary year and when we lost Cesare Scotti..
