This is from a Swedish Newspaper, making a story about me being
hired by OMC to race as a Pro.

I have one more nickname in Sweden, "Strömming" as the headline in the
newspaper clip. Means Herring, (like Bob)

The Swedish Powerboat Federation gave me race License # 1, so now my race number is 1 instead of my old 99.

    Default New member

There is one more Swede reading BRF now.

Her name is Ewa, and that's my baby sister and she has done lots of work in Sweden to
make my Racing stories possible in Swedish and at Boatlife.se

Digging up old photos and news paper etc.

    Thanks Ewa/Loppan

I know Swedish is hard to read, but you are going to be surprised how many news papers
was writing about me and my racing.

    Default Lars and his Evinrude

First one is my beer boat, Fletcher 19' sorry only half the boat.

Second is my Flying Flipper, white in the background with 2 X 300 Evinrude. ( OMC sent the first two by air to me 1985)

My Skater 32' with 3 X 300 + with Offshore gear cases and Hi perf kit. Pretty fast and I was a Skater dealer for Sweden.

    Default More Piraya photos

The first photo is from 1972, and my first Piraya 16. As you can see, budget racing and the Hilton Hotel is in the background. I did not have the money to buy a good trailer but we had lots of fun.
A new Skater 32 was way out of reach at that time of my life.

Second is the Piraya 17 I built myself from the Stockholm Boatshow 1973

The last one is from the Big race Roslagsloppet 1973, and my copilot Hans Holmen is still in the boat.
We where leading the race and a few miles from the finish line, the boat hooked and Holmen was swimming!!!

Ended up second, and Lars was very upset. Young and crazy, Well you know.

Hans Holmen was working for Evinrude in Sweden, and a very good friend.

If you call Evinrude in Sweden today, Hans Holmen still answer the phone.
He has survived every change like nobody else, over 40 years with Evinrude in Sweden and I have asked
Hans for some help to translate som of my future race stories

Default To beat the Speedlimit when towing a trailer

The first photo is two of my employees.

From left Mats Nystrom, Jan Clefberg and the clean up
    person Lars.

Second photo is a way to beat the speed limit with a
    trailer in Europe. (50 mph)

Autoban has no speed limit normally, and with the
F3 boat on top of the pick up I could travel as fast as I
    wanted.

There was always a race somewhere in Europe, and Sweden
is like Florida, a dead end.

    The photo is from 1981

Default Guess how won the race? 2

My boat ended up OK, and after swimming back to the boat I ended up
    second in that heat.

Next heat was a must win, and I won the heat and the race, and was
    pretty proud.
