Are the pink spark plugs German and came with the motors originally?

Second motor brings back a lot of memories. Most good....Had several of these. In 1983 I ran 23 races and scored 8700 points / US-2 with one. Two things on this motor intrigue me. I welded up my top float bowel mounts to keep the throttle cable from pulling out. Kind of looks like my crappy welding...In 1973 I bought my first one from Bob Olsen. It had a very trick billet aluminum cylinder head on it, like this. My tool and die project in college was to design and build the tooling needed to produce copies of it. Built 25 of them in 1975.

Both great motors, thanks for sharing with us.

    you were right Steve.

Glad you did post more pictures Alice. It also brings up more questions. First I don't recall having seen any closeups of a 56 Konig before and it really has all the features of a mid 60's FA. I had thought the 57 model was the first year of the exhaust stacks and that they were the "mule ear" style. This motor is even earlier and has the bracket to hold the fixed expansion chambers it looks like. Also I thought the older motors had the Bosch magneto.I wonder if maybe the motor was updated at some point. Wish Steve Litzell were around to fill us in. Somewhere there are posts of old brochures on the old FA Konig. Maybe somewhere earlier on this thread. Have to look. Do those triangular ends on the steering bar swivel? They look like they are backwards to me.

    Thanks again. Good pictures.

Anyone able to ID this motor. I’m quite sure it’s a konig but I could be mistaken.
