    Well i just baught a slt it is a dux with a mod 50 d hotsu but dont know how to tell if the rev limiter is removed ?Is there a way without tearing the motor apart to tell if the crank has been welded?I was told it was a race preped motor and it has been raced thanks

    No, you have to take the motor apart to inspect the crank.

    Default 50D Tohatsu rev limiter

    If the Black wire with yellow tracer is plugged in forming a loop on the rear of the CDI unit the rev limiter is working. To disable simply unplug it.

    Thanks the rev limmiter is on plugged and looks like the motor has been apart I hope the crank was done when it was apart !The cdi box has dux scribed in it too ?

    it can be hard to tell if it's been apart, seen is believin, with the limiter bein plugged in and it sayin dux on it i, myself, would Not believe it.

    Well it has been apart and the rev limiter is unpluged i ran it today and it ran well I will need to rebuild the carbs it has been siting for a year or so any good place to get carb kits? thanks lee

    it's not likely that you will need kits, just take them apart, clean them and reassemble, readjust the link and sinc, should be all good.
