Default Blow-out in a new style Mirage

I ran a new style Mirage out at Irvine lake yester day. Just at 81 MPH with a 28 chopper and ¾ of an inch below the bottom it blew-out so bad that it almost threw me out of the boat. I have had boats blow out all the time, never anything like this. Does anyone have a boat like this that could offer some advice?

    Thank you in advance,

    Chad Hill

Sounds to me like you should back it down to 78ish. I have a feeling that 78 would win it...

    what lower unit????
80 mph is where a stock unit tends to blow out if you have a coned unit I would look to see if it is straight with the prop shaft and that you are using the correct washer on the prop my next thoug would be to check the prop shaft

it is a CLE and the set up is good with a good washer. It also has a blow out ring on it as well and when it was taken off it blew out at around 40-50mph. We have another gearcase that we will try but any other suggestions will be good.

It is a CLE that I have run close to 100 on a Baker with, never to blow out.

I never liked taking off that ring. I can`t see how it would blow out at 40-50 mph. Something is bad out of wack.
I`ve never heard of anything blowing out at that slow of a speed.

Not the built in ring, one that you put before the prop and fits around the propeller. I agree with you, I think the boat is flexing.

Your glad it happened???? You weren’t the one to almost get thrown out of the boat at 81 MPH. My back is still hurts from trying to stay in that thing.
