    Default Howdy from the Northwest

The outlaw nostalgia guy here: George Nordling just told me about this race. He was flown down there and had not been in the boat yet. After testing, the pedal and seat were not correct for him especially for his bad leg so he made due with a couple 2X4s and settled into a third fastest position when all of a sudden the two fastest boats ahead all pulled over and let him take his first K win! He was grinning and slurring words as he recollected this. Hey Jim, why dont you buy Georges last Lavey for a back up PS?! I have pictures.

    Default lavy

I flipped , carl grossmans Lavy , Carol lynn. there are only (a half doz. at the most) people in the country that can drive one and i;m not one of them. Putting that nose up and staying on that rocker is a real trip Jim

    Default Ok

Now, i think I know who you are, Truit Beal mentioned you and Mario as Eastern drivers who I should have raced with so I could have learned to properly drive an L-boat!
Had the priviledge of meeting Mike Conti and he would love to has his old L back, even chased one down the public parking lot! I think he was of Yankee Steeler fame? Dont quote me, I am still a student of the circular crazyness! My name is Boyd from Washington if you talk to those guys. Dave skedattack knows who I am but wouldnt reccommend me for a back up driver, unless it was a Lavey! I have owned two, one, SS83 'Comin Thru', now resides in Greg Barkers garage. Do you know Jim Jones down Carolina way? Sweet Caroline is up here still, that is the L-boat version.

The last boat George still has would NOT fly the nose, he tried everything to get her to. Its the Faulkner former SS70 with added strakes and modified chine. Dont know who did the mods but it is a very stable ride and won the Nostalgia fast (no GPS) class this last year!

If Mike Conte ready wanted to buy a Lavey he would have bought Carl Grossmans, the Last Carrol Lynn that went to frank snyder, Ga, somebody else, then Chris Bayliss,Conn. now John Ringer N.J. has it I think. the record holder that is still here in New Jersey. End of story JIm
