    Default jetting carbs??

i'm thinking about trying leaner jets in my 55merc 3cyl (59ci).it came with .058 jets and i want to try some .056 ones.
i've done some research and the only difference i can find between a 55 seapro and the 60 classic ,is that the 60hp run .060 jets and have 2* more timing advance.
i've heard of guys running .056 jets in there 60hp's ,so i thought i might try them in mine????
the reason i want to try them is that it feels like its hitting a bit of a wall @ the 5800rpm mark and the rev limit has been disconected.
will leaning the jets off pick up more topend rpm ???
or should i go the other way and put .060 jets in and advance the timing 2*

the moda has a zone in witch it makes it's peak power, this particular moda is ported for that zone, beyond that zone the power curve falls like a stone.
