    Default Broken skeg, fixable?

Is this fixable, or should a new case be used. 50 HP Yamaha and will be surfaced.

    Thumbs up Skeg repair

Yes, it can be repaired. In many cases, good prop shops do it by ordering half or full skegs for a particular make & model and weld it on. My fathers shop do skeg repairs all the time.

If your going to go very fast on a light boat, I'd replace it. Welded skegs on the bigger V-6 stuff have been known to break off at high speed. That allows the boat to turn sideways and barrel roll. If it were on a slower or heavy pleasure boat, your probably OK to weld it.
