Default 1957 F Runabout Nationals in San Diego

This first picture is the start of heat one of the F Racing Runabouts Nationals held in San Diego Flood Control Channel. Late September or early October 1957. Due to the sanbar just west of the corner, everyone had to approach the start using the second turn.

C-172 Bob & Alex Cockburn, C-174 Bob Jackson & Lenorad Collins. The two remaining visible boats believed to be Chuck Parsons C-153 in roostertail, Bob Marvick C-31 in middle of second turn.

Second picture is the start of heat two. This time Bob Marvick figured they would be closer on the start. However was just a little early! Deck rider actually stuck his right foot out in an attempt to help slow it down some.

1957 F Racing Runabout National Champion, C-174 Bob Jackson & Lenoard Collins driving John Toprahanians Boat and motor.
