More photo's from Laughlin, May 1985
Photo's include the K-Boat of Val Wheeler floating bow up after Jay Ellington took a swim. Got a pretty cool shot of the rescue team giving the OK signal and Jay looking at the beach probably embarrassed in front of 5,000 or so people. I included a deck picture of the E.T. boat cause it was a beautiful boat that got destroyed at Burley a year later and ended Jay's driving career. I have pictures from that event which I will post sometime.
Hey AZOUTLAW, what K boat is that leading in your 1st pic? Cant read the #
Thanks
I was wondering the same thing? I think it was Randy Parish if I'm still not "too old" not to remember...I also have a photo of this same boat destroyed at Burley sometime soon after this race in Laughlin. It was metal-flake silver and black trim. Can't quite read the name on the boat but I think it was the Warlord??????
I got motivated to find those photo's...I think it is the same boat one month later in Burley. Nice action shot eh? Not bad for a 12 year old.Think it was the last time anyone was going to see that boat?
Hate to jump a year in advance even though I have Burley 1985 ready to scan, I'm going to jump ahead to the 1986 Inboard Nationals at Dexter Reservoir in Oregon. Trying to locate photo's of PC 600 for a friend. I just so happened to wrap some old plaques my father won in old race shirts for storing the last 14 years....this was one of them.
I'll try to post something before Parker this weekend.
