    It might help ....if you say which brand of motor you have in mind .

    I am quite sure he is speaking of a Yamaha, yes it can be done, you may need to swap more parts than you think. Like saddle brackets and such. If you are going from 2 wire to three , or vise versa, you will need to do some solinoid swapping also.
