can you post a pic of the boat? i dont know anything about the 45 mota. my aluminum boat hull weight is 260 i am 230 motor is 210 ,+ battery bone stock 50 hp 20p merc chopper 58mph any day best ever 60.2. i put a cut down bobs lwp and was 6mph slower than home made bullet ( cut on 15 deg. total of 30 deg. vee) took me a long time but the setup is the most important i have been back and forth to the prop shop many times my prop has a lot of bow lift in it, motor never has positive trim is dead neutral. would like to see boat when you get it done. it ought to haul tail. keep us posted.

Never said that I wanted the 45" to perform like a 49" triple. (got one of them that will honk!)
Just want to improve the performance of the piece in hand.
I know that porting only will not do the job, and I have other improvements planned for this piece.

Didn't want to step on someones toes, but seems that I have by simply asking for help.

Boat is currently upside down getting bottom fixed. Also have deck separated from hull trying to loose some weight by replacing old waterlogged flotation . Boat had a 1/2" hook in and was as wavey as a mad snake. Got @ 1 more day of sanding & then the Primer ( Evercoat Slick sand). then More sanding Motor progress going well. Will post pictures as soon as I can turn boat over.
