    Default 45" rods

Got a question here for any one who will answer this for me.
See attached photo of two connecting rods. Both are for 45" OMC 2 cyl loopers. rod on left is from '77 55 hp rude, rod on right is from 85, 50 hp rude.
Both have same casting #, both use "big" wrist pin, and both have hole in crank end, thus both of these are "fishing" rods.

My question is IF you were building a "recreational" motor with a little extra pep, both rods to be cryo treated @ $8 ea, which would you use & why or why not?

    Your opinions are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Heavier & larger is not always best.
