    Default Question for Jake

Seems I could sell COMPLETE gearcases even when Sea Way had the parts. What about having Bill Curtis build like five complete cases and shape them? If someone needed a gearcase, Dave, at Sea Way could say we can SHIP a complete gearcase TODAY....

When you got down to 1, have Bill build 5 more.

We could keep one for sale here on BRF at all times, I could also keep one on my E-Bay store. Many people, like myself, can't assemble gearcases and we hate to buy parts and find out the little washer that goes inbeteewn the big nut is back ordered....

    Default SST-45 Parts

Not to worry on SST-45 Gear Case parts. Right now I have four empty cases - we have been selling about 2 a year for the past 12 years - so seems like I still have a two year supply. I did make 20 new housings about 10 years ago - and have the patterns and tooling to do that again - when and if that time comes. We also have all of the other gear case parts in stock and if any supply runs short can have more parts made pretty easily as we have been doing for years. I think that most of you know to contact Dave Losvar here if you need SST-45 parts - and we certainly appreciate the business you all have given us in the past.
I do like Steve's idea about getting a complete E-Mail list of all SST-45 drivers and would encourage all of you to help him out with that. It would be helpful also for SWM to have to get the work out to drivers concerning parts avaliability and in the event we do run out of Cases - to get drivers input on manufacturing some more.
Anyone can E-Mail me directly (swmjake@aol.com) or contact Dave (davel@sea-way.com) if you have any questions or concerns.

    Thanks,

    Greg Jacobsen

    Merleau,

What are you wanting all sst45 drivers names for? I heard rumor that you were trying to put Fred Miller out of the show. And start a new series for 45.. If that is true very difficult I would say. Just seeing the changes and problems Champ is having. Is an example of problems in racing. But the are rebuilding. So are you trying to start a series?

    Ashton,

It was great talking to you last night and I hope I was able to answer all your questions concerning 2010. Fred and I are working together to get more drivers to more races as we talked about and I will talk to Fred about your frustrations. Again I am just trying to compile a list of 45 drivers across North America and Canada so I can talk to them about 2010.

    Thanks

    Wink Just an idea....

Build a case that can be used on sst 45 and sst 60 if it could shift you could sell it to punters on the lake.
Something along the lines of an old v4 75 ish manual shift box shown below with a LWP.
Very simple to work on, Forward and rev gears are the same, one piece p/shaft = costs down
I dont remember the consumer ratio but they look like you could fit 1:1 in that design?
I'm sure with a few mods you could run in with either rotation?

I am surprised that old design hasn't been used again unless there is a fundamental flaw I am unaware of?
It looks simple to cast and machine?
With a selection of upper halfs to suit various mid sections you could cover many engines.
