    Default scat cat finally together

finally got the scat cat back together..... Was wondering what prop to put on it. It has a 94 50 johnson, stock lower unit and a pro 50 transom bracket with trim....... accepting all suggestions and opinions.

At least youve got the short tower. I had a similar older 50hp twin on a 15' tin boat. The aluminum prop was ok but when I stuck a stainless prop from a blown 115 I had on it was faster & accelerated better. Im guessing that was an 18p & am sure it couldve spun the next size up. Set up & prop testing might go a long way on that.. Good Luck

    yes sir,
I went and talked to a machine shop friend. he made me some bronze bushing to take up the slack between the steering tube od and the swivel brackets id. The top bushing was no problem, the bottom one had to actually extend out past the bottom of swivel bracket. (but i am sure you know this)

I found a 12 1/4 X 15 and the boat planed off fine, but was on the rev limiter rather quickly........ At this point in time the boat seems to be a little heavy in back end.
I asked about the carbs because we have talked about them before.

mr king. in my opinion i would leave the jack plate cause the hull has no offset in it, jack it up to the moon, a lwp, and put a big cleaver on it. ought to bust 60mph no prob with 50 hp. might be a little slow gettin up. 12x21 over the hub to start. a lil bitty battery and a small tank. that boat is very close to my dads boat. whats the prop in the picture

    50hptiller,

The prop in the picture is no good for me. It is a beat up suppost to be a 25 pitch, but it has no diameter. The boat just wouldn't plane off with it..... I think I have the motor low enough, the prop would just slip.... going to look for another prop today.
    Thanks for the response....
