Okay, so I'm a Merc guy, but...
Using reeds from an OMC triple (55-65 hp) for a project. The reeds stops don't seem to open all that much, so I'm wondering what openings you OMC guys run (and get away with).
Thanks,
Jeff

Here's what the homemade reed plate looks like. The reed stops are all bent at different openings, so I need a number to set them all the same to.
The manual has a measurment for the tip clearance as I remember it.
Not at home this week but I will post or meaure one when I get home
Ps if that engine is going to make say 90+ hp you would be better off with the 4 reed version from the 2 cyl engine imho?
Cheers
Love to use the 8 petal reeds, but I have a space problem. The Merc 650/ 700XS motors have the electric starter relocated further aft to allow wider reeds assemblies. The 6 petals will have to do!
