I'm looking for either a set of wings or schematics to have a set cut. There doesn't seem to be much room around the powerhead bolts for the meat of a wing...so I'd like to see some examples.
Thx.

i've made wings for them, use all three bolts on each side, new they come with a set of bolts a bit longer for the wingplates.......

Both cable attachment holes & the center of the pivot should be in a straight line, for the best geometry.
Its better to use the tiller stub like in photo. Had lot midsections crack when using powerhead bolt on Yam. (Mostly on tunnel boats).
If you use powerhead bolts add stabilizer link each side to engine tray and a link to both arms at rear of engine. Some added supports down to strap fitted around centre of mid section !!.
I think that you would be fine for using the powerhead bolts as anchors. I ahve wings like that on my 2.6 and they work fine. NEver had a problem. I have attached a couple of pics but it not easy to see where the wing ends and midsection begins... Maybe it will be of some help. Just use high quality bolts and check them frequently.
