Ron & Ross,
I could possibly talk my dad, Carl Barrett, Duane & Mike Hodges into coming out for this race in Sport C. If you get a firm date let me know. Dad and I are currently repairing his sport C after last years crash. He plans on running a full schedule this year and we were talking about coming out west to take on the Region 11 guys so maybe we could make it 2 races.

Anything I can do to help out here, let me know....Maybe, we could get the boats sold before they got here.... How about posting some pictures??? Please look the rules over and see what you think....Nothing is firm yet, excecept that we are planning a Mini Enduro...
Ron and Ross, the Mini-Enduro is a great idea but it must be kept separate and independent of the Parker 300. I have talked to a number of the 300 enthusiasts and they like the idea of a nice, relaxed and prestigious trophy presentation on Saturday night. They would like an hour or so of drinks prior to dinner without worrying about getting up early in the morning to go racing. They would like time to enjoy the success of running in the "300"! In any event, Sunday is needed for a "blo-out" day. I have not been asked my thoughts on running the two enduros on one week-end and I wonder why anyone would want to take away from the prestige we have been trying to pump into the 300 Enduro. I for one think we need to work on the return to QUALITY of racing rather than quantity of racing. QUALITY will serve to preserve racing while quantity simply continues the long death spiral that boat racing has been in for years. We are talking about two separate races, each one demanding the respect and distinction of a stand alone race --and they will, if we give them what they deserve. Ron, to my knowledge, the mini enduro was an idea you came up with and I think you planned it as a separate event. I know that is what I had in mind for the Parker "300" and I would like to work towards that end. In most minds, last years Parker Enduro was a screaming success, as a first time attempt--why would we screw with success. As a "team", let's try to work together, improve the areas we were "light on" last year and use what we have learned in the past to help us put on two successful Enduros. Sincerely and with only boat racing at heart,
Rod Zapf
I agree, and perhaps we can get the Blue Water to throw in some money just like the 300. Would make it much more relaxing to only bring 1 boat to each event.
First and foremost, Relax! I was throwing it out there as I already have the CG permit in process for the BWRC '300' Enduro and it includes Saturday and Sunday (for the BWRC only to be used in case of wind or weather issues). Now, if you want it to be it's own event, separate from the BWRC Enduro, I have no problem with that but again Ron wanted the event to be done this year and since I have everything going for the Enduro it seemed logical to use Sunday for the Mini-Enduro. I have to see if the Bluewater has anything open otherwise it may have to be next year or move to another location.
Ross
I would like to see the Mini-Enduro as part of the BWRC Enduro. This way I would be able to see the Big Boat enduro. Should cut expences, since both events will be under the same insurance. Also won't have to fork out the 07 APBA membership in November.Originally Posted by rossdbos

My only thought is that it would cut down travel time for us Nor-Cal folks.
Bottom Line, as I see it...The Blue Water Casino 300 is really a VINTAGE BOAT RACE, as there aren't really any new boats being built for this race...that I know of, anyway. Some Division 6 boats are new, like the Nordic was last year.... There will be some HIGH DOLLAR BOATS and I feel, from talking to many, that we will have many more entries this coming year....
But, to me, what will make the Blue Water Casino an "Event" IS a relaxed ATMOSPHERE. BY RACING ON SATURDAY, WE HAVE SAID, "If you can't afford to not work Fiday, you'll have to hustle to make the race Saturday....and we want Sunday for a "BLOW OUT DAY"... Events have sit down dinners at the end...Turth is, mnay MINI BOAT OWNERS will also have boat in th 300, but I feel, the MIni Boat Enduro should really be for the "LOWER BUDGET, FAMILY ORIENTED, RUN WHAT YOU BRUNG, RACING.
We ran two boats in the 300, last year. I plan to run one this year. I plan four boats in the Mini Enduro....If, we try to run these two events on one weekend, I know our four Mini Boats will drop to two....
BUT, HAVING SAID THAT, Maybe, both events need each other...as we could save the insurance and sanction fees, a three hour Mini Enduro could start at 10 Sunday and be done by 1:00, and if we had to run the 300, on Sunday, both races would take less time an a NORMAL BOAT RACE...
Truth is, I want both boat races to be "Stand Alone" events, but, maybe, to get the Mini Enduro going, this year, we should run them together...I can see people being able to borrow life jackets, use left over gas....Drivers who took out one day memberships could co-drive in the Mini Enduro
Ok, I've convinced myself...Saturday for the BIG BOATS and Sunday for the Mini Boats....Saturday Night Trophies in the casino....Mini's trophies in th pits....
The only problem I foresee running them back to back is that after we get done WINNING the 300 it might be tough getting my helmet on with the hang-over I going to have
