Gene Whipp

I was looking through my files and came across this letter from Gene whipp. I was going to post it in the Encyclopedia, but found in the search that the earlier posts were not strictly about Gene. He was a great guy and contributed much to the sport of boat racing. I was very sad to hear about his passing. I hope Val can make a link of what she posted in the previous thread regarding Gene. This is what I found tonight.

I really didn't know Gene Whipp until Dayton 1974. When I met him, I thought he was just some guy from the city of Dayton, helping put on the Stock Nationals and the trophy banquet after the races.

Many years later I realized this same Gene Whipp was a large Sea Ray dealer in Florida.

I last saw Gene in Orlando, Florida at the APBA convention 1998.
