Thought I would post some photos of the hydro the TX444DK will be run on. The hydro is New Old Stock that Harry never got to the water and hope that its up to the task. As we get closer to finishing the engine we will mate a Brinkman tower to the boat and then rig it out. Hopefully we can also use the boat for the 6 cylinder engine were building which was started By Harry Brinkman. With luck it could be a fun ride.

Hi Alan- Bet the hydro with the mods clamped on will give you one hell of a ride. Be a lot faster than the stocks you ran back on Long Island and the northeast.
Enjoy and post pictures of your first run.Ye Olde Desert Geezer Al

Great job on those old war birds of yesteryear...the paint work is simply fantastic..which brand do you use?...Do you match colors from a sample or from a supplier?

Thanks for the kind words on the paint work. Doug Kay can do wonders with a spray gun. To get a good reading on the original color we use the inside of of the cowls or one of the best places is uner the serial number tags, It's best to buff the paint lightly to bring back its luster before you try to match the color. The starting point for color usally is with a standard paint chip and if we get a match we don't have to go any further. If need be then we adjust the paint formula by adding color to the formula to get the correct match. A engine we just completed in Mercury green had to be slightly darkened with a few drops of black. All two part paints work well. After color coating is completed we clear coat the engines.

The leg for the engine is close to being completed. Doug Kay is putting the finishing touches on the unit. We are using a Brinkman leg for the engine. I have a number of raw castings also if anyone is intrested. Hope we can water test in May. Hope you like the photos.

Doug Kay has almost finished the TX444DK with the exception of the intake and carbs. The new HW12A carbs are on order in Ireland from Tillotson and should be in within 3 weeks. The engine is fully assembled and ready to fire once the last details are completed. Also Doug has finished the restoration of one of Harry Brinkmans 30-H mod engines that was packed away in a box. The engine now has his latest port configurations and one of his best cranks. Hopefully this engine will give a fun ride. I have attatched a few photos of the latest progress. Hope you enjoy them.

Is that a D Quickie shaved to 1 3/4"? Any measurements on how thin that makes the case?
I did not have success with D Quickies over 85 mph. When you get there I'm sure you will know what I mean.

Hi Sam,
I will get the exact measurements on the unit. It was started by Harry Brinkman ans was a brand new unit. Doug did the metal finishing on it. Hopfully it will not be to much of a handfull on the Ropp. If it dosn't work what would you suggest? It has one under gears in it also. Alan |

Another question ... the bottom picture ... powerhead on the floor in the background ... looks like it might have Quincy aluminum 2 into 1 stacks.
Can you take a nice picture of it if that is what I am seeing?

Sam your correct about the two blocks on the floor. It's a pair of Quincy mod engines that I bought from Ted Lewis some time back. The pipes are quincy style but Ted made his own. The quincy powerheads will be gone through next fall and put on legs. Both engines will get a set of parker stacks and restored. Before they are started I want to finish my "A" and "B" loopers. The D is 226 and the F is 240. Here are some photos of them when I bought them.
