What kind of a drive are you using? Straight shaft with 1:1 gears or? How fast do you go? What are your courses like? How long is a race? What props are you using now?

Thanks for posting, damnest looking boats I've seen in years!

I have a nibral 19p 17d, 3 blade. The last motor WAS a chev 454 with 440 hp . I had a 1.5:1 reduction and got 50 mph @ 5400 rpm (slip was about 16%). but I fried that motor .
Previous to that I had a 300hp 318c.i. engine with 2.10:1 reduction and got about 40 mph @ 5000 rpm(slip was about %10)
Going up to a 500 hp 454. And I will be using a 2.10:1 reduction.
Course is about 1 mile long with 2 45 degree turns. From smooth conditions to choppy
