I made this up actually around 2005 or so. I've edited it over the years to allow for the model changes and such. Hope you enjoy it.

The Night Before Christmas, Hot Boat Style

“Twas the night before Christmas and all the hot engines were quiet as a mouse.
None of them were running.....everyone left the lake for the house.
The props were all placed in their boxes with care.
In hopes that St. Nicholas might bring a new spare.
Most everyone had put their race boats under the shed .
Now they dreamed of the coming summer as they lay there in bed
I had put up my helmet, life jacket and caps.
Hoping that Santa would bring a new engine with ZAP!!.
All of a sudden I heard all this racket.
It sounded like someone ripping the straps off my life jacket
Down the stairs and out the door I ran in such a flash.
If someone had hit my boat I was gonna’ kick his #*!
The glare of the moon was shining on my boat.
It blinded me from seeing, who was this dope?
What was this, I wondered as the sight came clear.
A 20 foot sleigh with twin 300 XS’s on the rear!
In it sat the driver covered in ice as hard as a brick.
Boy, with 300XS’s this thing has to be quick.
Much faster I thought than if it a pair of 2.5's powered this thing.
I wished I had seen this big rig run last spring!
An Allison, STV, a Cyclone this was not.
But with this much power it had to be hot!
Suddenly I heard the engines start up rumpidy, thump, thump.
Was I seeing things? No it couldn’t be, I wasn’t drunk!
All at once up on the roof top it went in hurry.
Leaving me covered in a big snow flurry.
A sleigh with outboards , I must be dreaming, this can’t be true.
Suddenly I heard the driver shout down the chimney ”hey kid’s I’ve got presents for you”.
As he shut down the engines I watched him step out.
What’s he doing I wondered as he walked all about.
Then he fell off the roof and landed in my yard covered with snow all over.
I heard him say “what the hell happened did I blow over?”
I said “no you fell of the roof and landed on your head.
He said ”oh, I thought I blew over, I musta’ tripped on my sled
Back up on the roof he hustled away.
I was thinking to myself, “has he come to stay?
As I looked him over in his funny fur coat.
I thought “This guy must be nuts if he thinks this sleigh is a boat”
Funny looking he was his pipe between his teeth.
The smoke circled his head like a over rich engine you see.
He was fat as a butter ball but that didn’t matter.
With a pair of 300 XS’s , this rig couldn’t be badder.
Chubby and plump he was all covered with ashes.
He must need the weight for the lake racer classes.
Suddenly down off the roof he climbed with a shimmy.
Asking ”do you think I could just use the front door instead of the chimney?
In the house he hurried dropping presents all over.
I saw him stop and eye the cookies and milk as he looked over his shoulder.
“Hey man how fast does that thing go” I asked as I saw him bend over.
As he turned and stood up he said “ about 10.50 at 119 in the quarter.
Out the door and back to the roof he went in a hurry.
I thought to myself “with twins this thing has to be scary.”
As he fired up the twins the roof began to rattle.
Suddenly he jumped in the seat as if it were a saddle.
With a wink, a nod and as he turned and spoke.
He said “This thing uses enough fuel to keep a guy broke.”
Slowly as he started to put the big rig in gear.
He said “now you people be good and I’ll see you next year.”
Away he went leaving me covered in snow.
Who was this character, and where did he go?
Faintly I heard him say as he flew out of site.
“Merry Christmas to all you hot boaters, I hope you have a good night.”
This strange man who was it really to be?
I don’t know but he left something for me!
I hope he comes again next year as he left me in a fit.
It seems he left me only half of a new nitrous kit.
So if you happen to see this funny man and his twin engine sleigh.
Just remember its Christmas and he’s traveled a long way.
Just to wish us the best of Christmas and cheer.
Along with hopes that we’ll be faster next year.
Merry Christmas from us at Eagle One.
We wish all of you happy holidays and lots of fun.
