Each lap is timed, once all laps are completed they are combined and whoever ends up with the fastest combined total will be your winner. In open desert where there no laps, it's still a timing issue. Example is Baja 1000, you can cross the finish line first, but it will depend on your starting position and overall time from each checkpoint and finish. There was a rider who had crossed the finish line first, but due to timing the second rider to cross ended up with the win!!

Hope this makes sense??

Looking forward to seeing Greg's new car......they were still working on it last weekend when I saw him at Panchos!

Some of those off-road guys turn out to be pretty decent racers. A few years ago one of them came out here to Wisconsin to learn a little about pavement racing with Baker Racing and crew chief/master instructor Howie Lettow. Their shop was in a 2 bay shop behind a gas station about 10 blocks from my shop. It was on my way home and I sometimes stopped in and chatted with the guy and he liked my kid. He stayed here for a couple years and learned in ASA before getting bumped up with some help from Chevy and Herzog. 5 guesses on who it was.

No, Travis was from Wisconsin. This guy was from California before he came east and has been more successful than Travis. The number 5 is a big hint.

Had Jimmy Johnson stayed in Off Road longer, maybe he'd have gotten REAL good.....He might even have been able to drive a B and H Hydro, like this one that Marlee Hill drives.....

Heard that Robbie teamed up with RPM to drive the truggy??? The spot that we were at [off the highway by Badenochs] the police car had him clocked at 101 before coming into a turn!!

Kinda.....truggy came from the creation of Mike Smith of Terrible Herbst Racing when he created Troy Herbst's "truggy". The difference between the two is "truggy" is open wheel and "trophy truck" is not! Typcially the truggies will run with the Class 1 cars since they have the open wheel look....

Best to my knowledge, they both are setup same with the engine and transmission sitting for the most part under the driver and navigator.
