That is sweet! Who set up your nitrous system. Do you use methenol or gas? Is it staying alive?

Nice. Yea im excited to see how the nitrous works. Im hoping to see 80+mph all out. And 70-mph in the 800 ft. Last year just motor ran a 73mph all out on gps. And a 65mph in 800ft. So it should be interesting to see what happens. I will deffinitly keep that race in mind. Thanks

right now im running 190lbs. or 21cc head with the nitrous i might back it down to a 23cc head. but ill test it with the 21cc first see how it works. i know i will see more affect if i run a stock head w/ nitrous but i loose my hole shot. so lots of testing ahead.

This boat is like the little boats i use to ride in when I was 13 years old in Disney World but with much less power. That thing is freaking awsome. So how much horse power when you hit the button?

ministream
03-28-2012, 06:17 PM
With the nitrous i should be around 135-140hp. Spinning 8500rpm

Chris, I believe Disney ran the Mercury Cubs...they too were fun little boats

Hydrostream produced many of these Hustler Boats in the Tunnel hull version in the 70's. BUT Pauls, Hydrostream Hustler is a much much more Rare version V-PAD Hull....According to Howard PipKorn Less than 20 Vhulls were produced between 84 around 91 when the company closed......I myself, have 3 of these Hydrostream Hustler Vpads and they can easily handle a great deal of HP.......I have a 105hp Chrysler Racer on one, a 75hp Stinger on another and a 150hp Chrysler Stacker Racer on my last one currently under construction....

The hulls sit well in the water even with the heavier outboards and perform Great. The transoms were very well built......Paul has the 10.5 inch pad on the bottom which makes a great Straightaway Boat......Paul is a very Light Fella and his boat gets up and goes very well

If I am not mistaken Hydrostream Hustlers were rated for 25hp ...... The Short shaft 75 Stinger became a motor of choice to run as a Laker....

The poorer performing Hustler tunnel hull was revamped into the New Hustler Vpad hull in the 80's to compete in the Mini Grand Prix Class

WELL DONE PAUL!!!!!!!! I'll be GUNNIN for ya

updates? I am building a similar setup with a lightweight allison 13R. I have a system from a 3 cyl snowmobile to put on mine. Planning an 8hp per cylinder hit with race gas on the fuel side.. How hard does your motor turn?

ministream
05-21-2012, 06:41 PM
i have had the boat out once so far, was testing to make sure the new electric fuel pump system was working good. ran like a champ lower to mid 70's on a all out run. having had a chance to fill the bottle yet. work has been kicking my *** lately.
does it run hard? it runs good, no nitrous im spinning around 7500 with the nitrous hoping to spin 8000-8500, dont wanna take it too high just wanna get there faster. im spraying a 9hp shot per cyl. i also have bigger jets too.

I've tried that. it Sucks!! Stuffed a Seebold several years ago. I went out through the floor after the sponsons broke off. Hooked the gas pedal around my foot and followed the boat to the bottom in 35' of water. Life jacket brought me back to the top. Glad I was wearing one!!

Hey guys sry for it taking so long. Works been crazy. Had her in the water last night. Ran good. I was only shooting a 5hp shot per cylinder. The smallest jets NOS makes. There was a diference ran a 67 without nitrous and a 71 with. These are speeds in about 1000-1200ft. You can feel it when it kicks in. She pulls pretty good. Thats wat i race so thats all i really care about. Still have to try some different setups and see which one works the best.

Sounds cool. Is your motor pretty fresh.Kinda rpm you turnin.

ministream
06-21-2012, 04:51 AM
Its got two seasons on it but still fresh i would say. I was only spinning 6500-700. Thats why im throwing more nitrous at it. My run is to short to spin my 12x23 cleaver otherwise. Shooting for 8000rpm.

06-22-2012, 07:22 PM
Ok i raised the nitrous up to a 9hp shot per cylinder. Wow is all i can say. When you hit that button hang on cuz she goes. I think next im going to raise it to a 50hp shot total and run a progressive system on it so i can run it on my holeshot without blowing the gearcase. It will be a little while before i try that tho.
