Here's some videos I made of the modified class, sorry for the videos not being so clear these were the first I have ever take or even posted. I was using a Nikon Coolpix 720P HD although they don't look as clear as other videos I see on youtube. If anyone has any pointers how to take better videos please tell me. Camera was about 119 dollars so that maybe why it isn't so clear.

75 Man , we going to start calling your hero NO SHOW Johnson , must forgot the way up here. You might have to take up his slack. ( bring him a boat):)
The BEAST is still in plane sight at the top of the hill ( makes the best target) plan on coming to the next race.

Hi Chris;

I'm betting that your camera started using digital zoom when you zoomed to the starting area, as opposed to sticking with the max optical zoom. If your camera has a 3-5x optical lens, that's about the best it'll do. Regardless, thanks much for showing us the videos.

Thanks, i actually manually zoomed it out all the way when they started and as they came closer I would zoom back in as they went past me. I really didn't think I'd enjoy taking the video so much. I may end up just keeping this camera and may look into buying a better one in the future for videoing. I was kinda hesitant about buying a really expensive one being anywhere near water Saturday. I know they have the GOPRO cameras which look really nice, have you ever tried them before? I've seen people post videos with them scuba diving down to like I think 160ft there capable of, this really maybe the camera to get.
The camera I have says a wide 6x zoom whatever that means.

Thanks,
Chris

The GoPro cameras are intended for really wide perspective movies, and don't / can't zoom at all if I remember correctly. You'd likely be better off with a true video camera or a compact camera with a 10-12x zoom.

I think your results were pretty good actually for what you're using - good sound and relatively steady - good job!

Thanks, I was reading up on the gopro and you're right no zoom on them, I'll hang onto this camera a while and just have to learn to play with it and make it work. Oh an being steady well youtube has a thing to correct the shakes :)

Thanks
Chris
