Hello to all, I have searched and havent found an answer yet so now Im asking.

Does anyone know if I can run two yamaha v6 150 coils on a suzuki dt 40? The dt is a 1983 model with out eletric start, and its a tiller.

Thanks gus

They won't bolt up to the bosses on the block (I don't think) but as far as compatibility, you shouldn't have a problem. keep the resistor plugs as suggested by Suzuki and it should work.

what is the resistor plugs? i was going to retain the quick connects so i can easily convert back to suzuki coils. and im just going to make a bracket to mount them. the original coils have two holes for mounting the yamaha coil I have has a single hole.

I think we gapped them at .012.

Ok so the yamaha coils got wired up today the motor ran great, for 26 minuets. I can off plain twice then a nasty chirp sound and a stall. I thought i seized the motor, nope fired right back up but chirped again gave it some throttle and back to the ramp i went, only does it at idle.... New plugs new coils, i reinstalled the old coils and it still chrips, is this chrip a lean sneeze? Thanks gus

Exactly..............Most of the smaller Suzuki and yamaha motors would do this in a lean condition. Check your float levels. Normally the cause.

Thanks to the sideways rain from issac the fuel has water in it. Thus i cleaned out the carb and all ports/jets and the line and switched tanks it chirped a time or two so i pulled out the idel jet blew thru it again and i think i blew out the resdiual fuel in the engine and now we idle at 900 ish per my tinytach 2a

Thanks everyone for your input, and the yamaha coils are back on, now tomorro i can go test the prop i got for ron hill.
